Sausage and Mushroom Calzones
1 pound Italian sausage roll
1 loaf (1 pound) frozen bread dough, thawed
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 jar (4 ounces) sliced mushrooms, drained, or 4 ounces fresh sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease baking sheet; set aside.
In large skillet, cook and crumble sausage until brown. Drain and set aside to cool.
Roll out bread dough on lightly floured surface to 12- to 14-inch rectangle. Cut into 4 equal pieces.
Top half of each dough piece with 1/4 of sauce, 1/4 of sausage, 1/4 of mushrooms and 1/4 of cheese. Fold dough over to enclose filling, and crimp edges with fork.
Bake on prepared baking sheet for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving. Yields 4 servings.
